The beat goes on at Tuttle. The Tigers have few equals when it comes to consistently winning. Tuttle hasn’t suffered a losing season since 1994 and has made the playoffs for an astonishing 31 straight seasons. Coach Brad Ballard enters his 10th season at Tuttle with a record of 91-20. While Ballard will be overseeing a battle for the starting quarterback job, he can feel confident in a solid core to build from on offense. There is depth and talent at running back and wide receiver. Brady McAdoo (6-0, 175, Jr.) is a touchdown waiting to happen. Most of his time will be spent at running back, but his versatility is a nightmare for the opposition. He’s just as dangerous in the slot or at receiver. Luke Falwell (6-2, 205, Jr.) is the most punishing among the running backs with Shawn Rounsaville (5-10, 155, So.) lending the shiftiness and balance. Falwell ran for 572 yards and five touchdowns splitting time at the position. Rounsaville shined in 2022 when given an opportunity as a freshman. The Tigers are just as deep at receiver with Mark Douglass (6-2, 185, Sr.), Noah McDoulett (6-5, 215, Jr.) and Major Sharp (6-0, 175, Sr.). Douglass led the group with 30 catches for 395 yards and three touchdowns. Sharp is the state runner-up in the 110 and 300 hurdles and McDoulett is just starting to receive interest to play at the next level. The offensive line is paced by a pair of experienced players in Jace Warren (6-1, 250, Sr.) and Cody Abston (6-2, 230, Sr.) along with Tandon White (6-1, 230, Jr.) who has had a great off-season.
DEFENSE
The Tigers will continue to be physical and aggressive on defense. Joe Wright (5-8, 200, Sr.) is the top returning tackler. Wright made 88 stops along with four sacks and cleaned up what made it past the interior combo of Jace Warren (6-1, 250, Sr.) and Adrian Avelar (6-1, 195, Jr.). Warren finished 2022 with 80 tackles. Avelar can play either end or nose guard and forced four fumbles with his aggressive defense. He’s progressed in the summer and could have a big year alongside the veteran Warren up front. Brody Bliss (5-11, 200, Sr.) and Ramsey Judkins (5-9, 180, Sr.) will both find places somewhere on defense. Most likely at linebacker. Mark Douglass (6-2, 195, Sr.) and Major Sharp (6-0, 175, Sr.) combined for seven interceptions in a secondary that specializes in creating turnovers. Gabe Avelar (6-0, 170, Sr.) will step into a starting role alongside Douglass and Sharp. There is a very solid foundation at Tuttle. The Tigers will be in contention for both the district and state title.
