Football has always been the sport of choice for Blanchard High School’s Brayson Carter. Baseball is a close second, but for Carter, suiting up and taking the field on Friday night is what it’s all about.

“Blanchard is a great place to play because there is great coaching and great players around you to put you in the best position to succeed. This season I am most excited about making a good connection with my teammates and making a playoff run. Having the ball in my hands and able to make plays,” said Carter.

Now a junior, Carter is quick to mention his teammates and what they contribute to the success of the team.

“This year you should keep an eye on QB Carson Cooksey, WR Reagan Palmer, TE Hudsen Periman, and WR Coric Pierce. I love the effort and the focus and dedication this team has. we all stay after practice to run and get better and perfect out craft,” said Carter

Another reason he loves being a student-athlete at BHS are the perks of being on the football team.

“Getting to do all the things outside of football like team dinners, lineman night, and enjoying the time with the team just bonding together forming a great connection,” said Carter.

In the classroom Carter said his favorite subject is Geometry. Carter also spends time in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is a member of National Honor Society. Once he graduates from high school, Carter would like to attend college.

“I haven’t really thought of what I am going to study in college but I’m thinking about maybe business or going into being a doctor or an anesthesiologist,” said Carter.

As for the Class of 2025?

“I want my class to be remembered by bringing a state championship back to Blanchard!”
