Tri-Cities Area Athletes Named to Area Football Players to Watch – Presented by Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Norman

Jackson Dull – Bethany

Jackson plays defensive end and has a great work ethic. He is the ultimate team player. He will do anything for his teammates and is definitely a hard worker.  

Austin Melson – Bethel

Austin has started at linebacker for Bethel since his freshman year. He has totaled 354 tackles over his first three years and will continue to be a force this season.

Andy Diaz – Bishop McGuinness

A young man that has not started a game for over three years but comes to work everyday in the weight room and on the practice field. He was voted on by his teammates to be one of the captains for this season and is a model player for the younger guys.  

Brayson Carter – Blanchard

Carter is like a swiss army knife, he can do it all. Understands everything on both sides of the ball. A relentless worker and preparer. 

Colton Sullivan – Bowlegs

Sullivan is a very quick and fast back that runs downhill and is very tough to tackle. Last year was his first year to play football so he is still learning everyday. The last half of the season, the opponent’s defensive game plans seemed to be centered around him from the slot and running back spot.

Caison Rich – Bridge Creek

Caison is a very hard worker, coachable, and a team player. He is a fun young man to be around and the team looks up to him. He will be a player that is quiet but you will be hearing about him.  

Trystan Haynes, Trynae Washington, Marcus James, and Caden Davis – Carl Albert

These four outstanding players will have a big impact on the direction of the Titan’s season. They all work hard and leave it all on the field. 

Juju Smith – Choctaw

Juju is a four-year starter and he is an electric player. He was a 1,000 yard rusher each of the last two seasons. He plays on offense, defense, and special teams and makes plays with and without the football.

Justin Montgomery – Community Christian

Justin is a leader on the team because of the example he sets for the other guys with his work ethic in the weight room and on the field. He should end up being a three-year starter.  

Hayden Burns – Crescent

Hayden is a guy who will start at inside linebacker on defense. He is also moving from running back to offensive line. He has gladly accepted this role saying that he is happy to do whatever is best for the team.

Ricklan Holmes – Del City

Ricklan has been a varsity starter since his freshman year. Last year, he made All-State as a sophomore and totaled 17 sacks on defense. This year he will play a bigger role at the running back position and carry most of the running load. He already has five D1 offers from Arkansas State, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, and Washington State.

Khamai Perry – Douglass

Perry is a sophomore defensive back that is always on time and does the extra work. Great in the halls and with his grades. Perry is the kind of kid every coach wants on their team. Never complains and always working to get better. 

Brock Dozier – Edmond Memorial

Brock loves the game of football and it shows every time he steps on the field. He is not afraid to put in the hard work and is always trying to improve his game. 

Matt Zeiler – Edmond North

Matt is a hard working, strong, hard hitting, undersized guy. He’s a headhunter on the field and a future state champion powerlifter.

Rustyn Cook – El Reno

He plays wherever he is needed. He is the scout team quarterback and the first guy off the bench. His football IQ is high and he is a leader on the team. 

Semaja Morgan – Guthrie

Morgan played all positions on the offensive line the last three years. He does what the team needs him to do.

Joseph Sager – Harrah

Sager is a leader that leads by example. He has been going to outside football camps and helping the underclassmen with how to be Harrah Football. He is going to be making statements on the field and will be a force that offenses will have to gameplan for.  

David Griffin – Heritage Hall

David is a grinder that has played almost every position on the field. His attitude and versatility makes his team better on both sides of the ball. Not to mention he is on every special team as well.  

Malachi Henderson – Holdenville

He is explosive and has a chance to take it to the house on any given play. Henderson has just enough wiggle that if you give him space, he will put on a track show.

Warren Hacker – John Marshall

Warren is a disciplined student-athlete. He is a “show up early and stay late” type of guy. He has completely transformed his body over the last year losing close to 70 pounds since the end of last season. Warren also excels in the classroom displaying the same discipline and focus as he has done with his body transformation. 

Riley Ellefson – Jones

Riley is a big, agile, and smart athlete. He is a great run blocker and has great hands. He is a versatile player and lines up as a wide receiver, tight end, halfback and a flex. He knows the playbook and always helps others.

Spencer VanOostrum – Lexington

Very hard working athlete that understands the game very well. He is usually one of the first ones in and last ones out.  

Shaun Hill – McLoud

Great athlete and competitor. Always makes plays in big time moments in multiple different ways. Dangerous with the ball in his hands and can take it away and score on defense.

Treyvon Compton – Meeker

Treyvon is going into his second season as a full-time starter at quarterback and into his fourth season starting in the secondary. During his career, he has thrown for 4,530 yards, rushed for 895 on offense, while accumulating 126 tackles and has eight interceptions on defense. 

Jahhim Mahmoud – Midwest City

He will be an impact player on both sides of the ball, running back on offense and safety on defense. His speed will be a key part of his success. 

Dalton Mays – Moore

Starter at linebacker his junior year but was sidelined with injury. Ultimate team player and volunteers at various events around the community.  

Ben Rogers – Newcastle

He had an injury last season, but Rogers is ready to get back on the field and be a big contributor for the Racers.

Connor Franks – Noble

Great kid who you never have to tell to go hard. Gives his all and is always looking for some extra work.  

Ryder Murphy – Norman

He will be a threat at wide receiver.  He ended last season with 867 receiving yards and six touchdowns and he will look to increase those numbers this season.

Will Lundquist – Norman North

Lundquist will be at running back on offense and he does a great job of finding open running lanes. 

Caleb Hawkins – North Rock Creek

He is the leader of the team and elevates the play of his teammates. He is a difference maker and an exciting player that makes things happen on both sides of the ball.

Carter McCalla – OK Christian School

Carter is extremely hard working. He will play running back and linebacker for us this season. He put in a lot of time this offseason in the weight room and it showed this spring.  

Jayedon Fuston – Piedmont

Jayedon is a four year starter on some really good teams. He is dynamic and very tough to tackle. He has exceptional speed and is one of the strongest athletes on the Piedmont football team.

Kelvin Tucker – Putnam City North

Kelvin is willing to play whatever position is best for the team. Last year he took snaps at each level of the defense.  

John Ryan High – Shawnee

John Ryan is a key player for the Shawnee football program. He is a three-year starter, John is a veteran leader on and off the field, constantly encouraging others and uplifting his teammates. He is a model student in the classroom and excels academically.

Hernan Terrazas – Southeast

Hernan is everything you want in a leader. What makes him so special is that he’s a young player who is more mature than most of his peers. He also is establishing himself as the captain of the offensive line and team. 

Drake Picott – Southmoore

Drake is a multiple sport athlete that does a tremendous job in organizing his time. His commitment to the weight room and his standard for success is a great example to all those around him.  

Darrien Clark & Kaseon Pine – Tecumseh

Clark will cover the best wide receiver every game. He is long and rangy, and excels in man coverage, and understands zone concepts. Pine is a great route runner and can be very elusive. He has tremendous hands and will compete for all catches. 

Garrett Rogers – Tuttle

Garrett is the model student athlete. He has worked extremely hard over his entire career. He does not miss workouts. He is always willing to help clean up or assist anyone that needs assistance. He is always kind and very caring.  

Coron Smith – US Grant

Smith has a great character about him. He has two younger brothers on the team who he leads by example with and is also trying to find a way to improve himself. He wants to be good and wants this team to succeed.  

Jaxon Byrd – Washington

Jaxon is one of the hardest workers on the team. He comes to work every day with a positive attitude and is everything that you want in a program  

Joseph Coffey – Westmoore

Joseph is a tough kid who works his butt off. He carries a 3.8 GPA and he does things the right way and wants to be great. He plays defensive tackle and offensive guard or the team needs him. 

Lucas Jones – Yukon

A key player on offense at wide receiver, Jones will look to have another big season this year. Last year he had 1,107 yards receiving with nine touchdowns.
