Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your hobbies, your passions.

My hobbies include riding bikes around the town of Tuttle with my sister and friends; I also enjoy snow skiing, reading, and traveling.

What classes do/did you teach?

I teach honors biology, biology II, and anatomy and physiology.

Where did you go to college and what led you into teaching?

I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor of science degree in dental hygiene. Six years ago, I decided to have a career change and I became certified to teach high school sciences.

Who mentored you into the educator you are today?

My first year of teaching, I was mentored by Daniece Foster, a phenomenal science teacher. Mrs. Foster poured into me daily to help me to be the teacher I am today. She gave me confidence and wisdom that I will always be grateful for.

What do you love about teaching?

Being a high school science teacher is my all-time favorite job! The students at Tuttle are known for being hard-working and respectful. I love that no two days are the same and I love being a part of my community. I also enjoy seeing students develop a love for biological sciences!

What is great about your current school?

The list is long on what makes Tuttle public school so great! We have amazing facilities, a positive atmosphere, great support from parents and administrators, and I look forward to collaborating and visiting with my colleagues every day.

Why is teaching Science and Math so important?

I feel teaching math and science is important because it allows students to have a deeper understanding of the world around them, it helps students to develop critical thinking skills, and it helps prepare students for higher education at a career tech or college.
