Student-athletes spend countless hours in practice and in the classroom, but what you may not see is the amount of work they put in away from school. For Blanchard High School’s Jada Schneringer, it means splitting time between her activities and being a student at MATC (Mid-America Technology Center) where she is enrolled in the Medical Office Assistant program.

“I do go to MATC, and I take Anatomy there and I’m currently in their Medical Office Assistant program with Mrs. Miller. What I enjoy most is the freedom we have to learn at our own pace,” said Schneringer.

As a student-athlete at BHS, Schneringer said she loves being a member of the varsity volleyball team and how much fun it is being around her teammates.

“I have played volleyball for three years and I’m an outside hitter on the BHS varsity team,” Schneringer said. “I love that my team knows how to have fun and that we can be serious also.”

Asides from sports and studies, Schneringer is a member of National Honor Society and is an Honor Student at Blanchard High School. The junior said her mother has made a big impact in her life and she is thankful for her support.

“My mom has been the biggest influence in my life on and off the volleyball court because she is a cheerleader, a supporter, and an amazing mother. She has been there for the good and the bad and pushes me to be better,” said Schneringer.

With her future goals in sight, Schneringer said anyone interested in finding a career after high school should consider looking at MATC.

“I plan to finish MATC and go to college for something pertaining to the medical field. For students wanting to go to MATC I’d say have confidence in yourself and choose a program that you think you can grow in,” said Schneringer.

When she has some free time, Schneringer said she enjoys spending it with friends and family.

“I spend my free time hanging out with friends, practicing volleyball, or going to football games at OU with my mom,” said Schneringer.
