Talkin’ Hoops with Newcastle’s Cole Seely – Presented by First National Bank and Trust Co. Newcastle

VYPE: Cole, what grade are you in, and what age did you start playing basketball? 

Cole Seely: I am a freshman and I started basketball at the age of 5. 

VYPE: What position are you playing?

CS: I am a shooting guard. 

VYPE: What is the strength of your skill set and what have you improved on for this season?

CS: My strength right now I feel is my offense. I have improved on my leadership skills this season. 

VYPE: What makes NHS a great place for you as a student-athlete?

CS: My coaches pour into me and my teammates making us work hard 100% of the time. 

VYPE: Have you been impressed with a teammate this season or have a former teammate who left an impression on you?

CS: Antonio Brown has been a good leader this year at Newcastle High School. He is encouraging and makes things happen on the court. 

VYPE: Which teammate keeps everyone laughing, who is the most serious?

CS: Kamdyn Colbert keeps us all laughing being goofy and lightening the mood. 

Allen Price is the most serious always trying his hardest and wanting everyone else to grow as well.  

VYPE:  How do you mentally prepare yourself for competition?

CS: I like to listen to music before games. 

VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?

CS: I love how we all get along, we all want to win, they’re all funny and we all cheer each other on. 

VYPE: What’s the goal for life after high school?

CS: I would like go D1. 

VYPE: Who inspires you on or off the court?

CS: My brother Conner Seely inspires me. He works hard and encourages everyone around him. He also takes time to work with me to improve and learn new things on the court. 

VYPE: What accomplishment are you most proud of?  

CS: Starting on the varsity team as a freshman.
