In his second season running the show at Bridge Creek High School, coach Aaron Shockley is developing a culture and team that continues to inch closer to living up to their own expectations.
“In year two at Bridge Creek we are still changing and creating the culture we want to have going forward. This summer we took big strides in the right direction. Our girls understand we are raising the standard, and they are committed to working hard every day to achieve that goal. We are excited to see the work pay off this season and to see it pay off in the win column this season,” coach Shockley said.
Three seniors dot the roster this year including Kynna Brannan (5-6) at guard, Paisley Baker (5-6) at guard and Jozlynn Shakilford (5-6) at guard/forward. Shakilford was injured last season, but Baker returns after averaging 7.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
VYPE Top 100 selectee Mila Muro (5-9, Jr.) leads the junior class after transferring into the program. Muro is a versatile player with good size, strength and a high basketball IQ. Muro can play all five positions on the court. Also look for Kinley Kelley (5-7) at guard, Kennadie Stone (5-7) at forward, Olivia Ellis (5-6) at guard and Rylee Johnson (5-7) at forward.
