Bridge Creek girls wrestling is on the rise as the program continues its climb under head coach Bryan Miller, who took over last year after previously helping build Harrah into a state runner-up squad. When he arrived, he saw a small but promising core and added his daughter, Hannah Miller, a returning 2024 state placer, as a foundation piece.
Last season’s focus was growth, and the staff of Miller, Ty Jackson, and Nick Abbott worked the hallways and the softball diamond to bring in around 24 high school girls to try wrestling. The buy-in showed immediately, as Bridge Creek posted a 5-2 record in its first official dual season, with strong showings at the Catoosa and Yukon tournaments and three state qualifiers in Riley Chidester, Maylee Salinas, and two-time state placer Hannah Miller.
This offseason, wrestlers like Diana Lomeli and Kailen Williams made big strides, and the staff is excited to have Jerzey Ritter back after injury kept her out of the postseason. Miller, a 4.0-plus student and senior captain, is described as one of the hardest workers in the room, a tireless supporter of girls wrestling, and a leader who seeks out extra training as she prepares for the next level. Kailen has transformed from a shy first-year athlete into a competitor always looking for extra mat time and new challenges.
Senior leaders Hannah, Nalysaa Metheny, and Raylee Mullenix will guide a group aiming to fill a few upper-weight spots to create a more competitive lineup.
