Bridge Creek’s Daxton Glenn
By Mike Moguin
Daxton Glenn of Bridge Creek appreciates what teammate Jacob Ojeda, has often told him through the years.
“He always told me not to take this for granted and that it would be over before I knew it, and now it’s almost at its end,” said Glenn, a basketball player for the Bobcats now in his senior season.
And the best advice he ever received was, “have fun and don’t put yourself through it twice by stressing over something,” Glenn said.
Ojeda was last Glenn’s teammate two seasons ago, when the former was a senior and Glenn was a sophomore.
After graduation, Ojeda went on to play college basketball at Randall University in Moore, Other former Bobcats gone on to play other as well.
“My favorite college team is probably Randall because there is a couple of my Bridge Creek teammates from a few years ago on the team,” he said.
Like most young Oklahoma athletes, Glenn likes the Oklahoma City Thunder as his my favorite NBA team. But his favorite player in the league is Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks, “because he’s just so smooth and makes basketball look easy,” he said.
Glenn also runs track and plans on to try both soccer and golf next spring. He is also in the National Honor Society, and I am an office aid for my school.
In the classroom, Glenn said he does have his favorites.
“My favorite teacher is Coach K because I can just go to his room and talk about anything to him. It’s like having a second father,” Glenn said. “The community is amazing to me, and I love giving back by performing for them and being a role model for younger athletes. I want to thank everyone at Bridge Creek for believing in me, and especially my mom, dad, and grandparents for always being at my games and supporting me through it all,” he added.
