Tuttle’s Tyson Kennedy
By Trina Walker
Playing college football is a dream Tyson Kennedy hopes to make a reality. As a senior at Tuttle High School, he is excited to compete in his final high school season.
Tyson is a strong safety and wide receiver for the Tuttle Tigers. He welcomes the challenge of playing these positions and eagerly puts in the work needed to excel in them. He is rewarded for this hard work on the field by representing THS as a student-athlete. “I like all the support we get from our school,” he says.
His love for football has taught him the importance of teamwork. Seeing the success of his teammates is the best part of being on a team. Football has taught Tyson a valuable lesson that will help him in the future. “Be the best you can be and never give up,” says Tyson.
The person who continually inspires Tyson is his brother. “My brother showed me we can do it if we work really hard.” He recently traveled to Clearwater Beach to visit his brother. This, he says, was the best vacation ever. Tyson wants to extend his gratitude to his family. “Thank you, Dad, Mom and Brother for everything y’all do for me,” says Tyson.
The teammate through the years who has stood out to Tyson is Brady Conder. “He showed me that you can always overcome hardships by laying it all out on the field.”
Moving to a new school can be stressful but Tyson found support in a familiar subject with a new favorite teacher, Mrs. Alyworth. “Math has always been what I’m best at in school and I chose that teacher because she is the teacher I’ve come the closest with since my move,” says Tyson.
Traveling to Pitt State is currently the best accomplishment and memory Tyson has of playing football. He was once advised to strive to be the best. With this advice in mind, Tyson can expect to see new accomplishments made this season.
In addition to playing football, he is also an avid baseball player. Both sports have been a part of Tyson’s life since early childhood. Little League was just the first step in his athletic journey. His passion for sports, football in particular, drives him to go as far as he can with them.
