TUTTLE LADY TIGERS
Coach: CARLA BALLARD
2024-25 Record: 21-8
OUTLOOK
In 12 years at Tuttle High School and three years as an assistant coach, Carla Ballard has taken over the head coaching spot and is excited to see what this group, led by three-year starter Marissa Sandlin (5-10, Sr.).
“We had a handful of juniors and seniors who got valuable playing time this summer at team camps, and we look forward to seeing them step into new roles this year,” coach Ballard said.
Sandlin will play a hybrid small forward/shooting guard spot where she averaged 14.2 points and 6.0 rebounds last season. Sandlin also shot 40% from the three-point line last season.
“Marissa is in a spot where she could pass the 1,000-point plateau this season. All of these things are great, but my favorite thing about Marissa is that every time she steps on the court, whether it’s practice or a game, you get everything she has and then some,” coach Sandlin said.
Evalynn Mitchell (5-10, So.) and Lakyn Smith (5-3, So.) are two underclassmen who made their presence felt as freshmen. Mitchell averaged 6.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and had 32 blocked shots while Smith scored 6.0 points while taking over point guard duties.
Also look for shooting guard Rylee O’Dell (5-5, Sr.), Jordyn Jackson (5-8, Jr.), Brianna Williams (5-10, Jr.), Kenzie Ballard (5-3, Jr.), and Hailey Day (5-4, Jr.). Incoming freshman Presley Riddle has enjoyed a great junior high career and has the ability to play any position on the court.
