Blanchard’s Rylie McAlpine
VYPE: Rylie, what’s your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?
Rylie McAlpine: My favorite school subject is math, and my favorite teacher is Mr. Coplen.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
RM: My mom inspires me the most. she is very hardworking, and she always pushes me to be the best and I appreciate the mom she is so much.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite moment from this season?
RM: My favorite moment from this season was the game against Tuttle. Tuttle is our rival, and it was a really good and fun game against them this year.
VYPE: What position do you play and what are your strengths on the court? What have you improved on this most this season?
RM: For school volleyball I was an outside. My strength is my constant float serve. Through club season I’m really working on my shots as an outside and passing as a DS.
VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?
RM: All of my teammates are always very supportive, and I love how we’re friends on and off the court.
VYPE: Which teammate is the most vocal and who keeps everyone laughing?
RM: Kylann Dobbs is always the voice I would hear on the court. Hailey Haxton is definitely the funniest on the team. She keeps everyone laughing especially when we’re down and she was always the best person to make jokes with.
VYPE: What surprised you the most this season?
RM: Our growth throughout the season that led to our ending record with a new assistant coach.
VYPE: What other activities are you involved in at school?
RM: I’m in leadership and it is such a fun class, and I learn so much from it.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
RM: I love going to the gym with my mom and my stepdad to get extra reps in. I also love going to the mall or movies with my friends and hanging out with my little sister.
